New chapter of our life journey - Hong Kong

It had been more than a month since our arrival on 25 February 2011. We had the most hectic moments in the past month, from homeless to a fully furnished home, from school-less to a happy boy who enjoys his school everyday, from a non-cantonese homemaker to a homemaker who "survived" the "chicken & duck talk" in the markets (though there are vast improvement needed to be a fluent cantonese speaker).

Tiring is for sure but i am feeling very accomplished. We rented this apartment at a very good price and most importantly, i love my new home so much! It's just beside the Tolo Harbour, overlooking the horse-racing course and the Fotan area, a clubhouse with good amenities especially the indoor children playroom that my boys always go crazy there, the accessibilities to ben's office, dry & wet market, library etc..  And we built up our little nest with a minimal budget of less than S$5k, including all the furnitures, electrical appliances, curtains, lightings etc, and all these settled within our 1st 10 days in HK! :)

The boys sleep in their own room and we finally have our bedroom just for hubby and me. Though it so much smaller compared to our previous apartment at Beijing (half of the previous size), but i love the coziness of it, and housechores are more manageable as we don't have a helper now. But we may get a part-time cleaner that comes once or twice a week though, i still need to keep my sanity and spend my quality time with my boys, that's the priority!

It has been so long...

since my last blog entry... feeling so sorry that i have been neglect this for the longest time. All the festives and relocation stuff has been keeping me busy and tired, always feeling 力不从心 to do all the updates. It had crossed my mind that should i just stop blogging, but i decided not! Though it always not up-to-date but i still enjoy reading all my previous entries. Hence, i will still pen down bits and parcel of my life as much as possible.. :)

Signs of potty readiness?

An An seems to be ready for potty training as he will normally let me know if there's poo in his diaper. He likes to imitate gor gor to pee into toilet bowl as well. I guess it's about time to take off his diaper and starts my "shit" work again, cleaning up more than 10x a day! But weather is still abit chilly now so i shall put the training on hold till late-april maybe. Oops! another excuse for me.. :p

I told mama i want to poo poo. So she let me do biz in potty. Nothing happened after 10mins and i start to play wi my kkb... tsk tsk.

Theme of the week: Spring

The lovely spring is approaching so we have SPRING theme for the week! Coincidentally, An An's playgroup is also having the same theme. I was brainstorming for art & crafts ideas and stories related to spring. We went to library to borrow some related books as well. I can see that Zq enjoys this alot while An An enjoys messing around instead.

I hope i can carry on this theme activities faithfully every week/ bi-weekly. I always love to browse through the art pieces that we did together!

Zq's drawing of papa & mama

I always had difficulties figuring out Zq's drawings. I notice he is not keen in drawing as he seldom draws though i always encourage him to do so. Well, every kid has their own forte and i shall follow his pace :)

Today he told me he wanted to draw "mama", i was delighted of course! He came to me, observed my face hard, and said "妈妈,你的脸是黄色的,我就用黄色的笔画吧“.  I was so amused by his remarks and laughed out loud,  我想我应该是个名副其实的黄脸婆吧!And he decided to draw papa as well.

And this is his drawings which i like it so much! As our eyes, nose, mouth & hair are all in the correct places, FINALLY! :)
