Baby's 1st Outing to...

daddy's workplace - Changi Airport. My sis and family leaving for Australia today, so all of us woke up early in the morning to bid them farewell in airport... Feeling sad that we have to separate again, esp my mum... she was holding back her tears so hard... Hope they will back to S'pore real soon... Both little piglets will be reunited again...

My elder sis and me is 3 yrs gap and our babies is abt 3 months gap! Jie, thanks for all the support and guidance during my pregnancy and when baby was new-borned, very grateful that you are always there for me :) Though you had went back to Perth, but we must still keep in touch often and keep each other update the progress of our little piglets k! Look forward to your returns! Tong tong, er yi miss u!!!

Baby's 1st week...

First Gift to our baby... his names :)

To have a very meaningful name for our baby which carry all papa & mama wishes, Dear and me had decided the first gift for our baby - to name him ourself :)

To be fair, papa shall think of baby's English name and mama shall decide on his Chinese name. So here comes the story of our dearie's name - Anderson, 子骞。。。

子骞:

"子"： 在古中国，子代表着长子， 也代表着文人和有学识的人，比如 孔子，孟子，老子. 我希望宝宝长大能成为一位君子，一个有涵养，有学问和懂得中庸之道的人。

"骞" ：张骞是一位勇敢的将军, 他开拓了 丝绸之路. 他向皇上自告奋勇，前往西域。 虽然在他的冒险之旅被匈奴囚禁了十年，他还是不畏艰难，继续他的使命。终于， 他成功开拓了丝绸之路，让东西文化交流。我很欣赏他这种勇敢和有毅力的精神，所以希望宝宝也能成为一个勇敢，坚信自己信念的人， 朝自己的梦想奋斗和努力。

Anderson means warrior, it ties with the meanings of baby's Chinese name. Dear likes this name very much so we decided on this!

Most important of all, hope baby will be a healthy and happy boy, that's our greatest wish now! :)

My hospital stay @ TMC - 10.10.07 to 13.10.07

Enjoyed my 4 days 3 nights stay at TMC, the confinement food is superb! Had so many visitors during my stay, esp during noons & evenings, hope my "neighbour" not being annoyed by me & guests :p Coz of caesarian, my incision is quite painful on the first day and i couldn't have much movements, even walking to washroom seems like mission impossible to do it alone!

A special person i wish to thank is Mrs Wong, she had visited me twice during my stay, she taught me how to proper latching on baby for breastfeeding. My nipples are flat and baby is very aggresive and demanding so she taught me how to massage my breasts to stimulate the nipples... Feel so grateful for her help, know that she's super busy but she still made an effort to guide me along... Thanks Mrs Wong and all my family & frens for all your lovely presents! :)

Arrival of my dearest bao bei... - 10.10.2007

Here's the arrival of my little prince:

10.20am: visited doc ang, 1cm dilation, baby's head circumference estimated at 36cm which is above average. upon discussion with doc, we decided to induce as i wish to have a natural delivery. we worry if wait longer to full term, baby's head will be too big for vaginal delivery. so inserted tablets to induce.

10.40am: do CTG for abt 20mins, nurse said good signs as there was contraction and baby was active.

1.30pm: visited doc again to check the effect of the induction. baby's head is engaging which is a good sign, but cervix still tight, chance of natural delivery is 70%. doc told me to admit into hospital ard 3pm.

2pm: back home for bathing and get ready to go to hospital.

3.15pm: admit to hospital, sent to observation room 2 ward D. did all the necessary for the preparation of labour.

3.30pm: sent to birth room 10.

4.20pm: doc came in and break water, nurse inserted the syntocin drip to fasten the dilation.

4.30pm: nurse collected 3 tubes of blood for cord blood donation.

5.15pm: contraction at every 3 mins, pain still manageable.

6.30pm: contraction at every 2 mins interval, pain getting more and more intense.

7.15pm: pain unbearable, asked for gas to relief pain.

9.45pm: very sad to hear that not much progress, only 2cm dilation though i have intense contraction. almost cried when i heard this... seems like the chances for natural delivery was very slim... and i was totally drained from all the pains.. hence we decide to have a caesarian.

11.30pm: caesarian began and epidural injected.

11.43pm: my little prince had arrived! weighed at 3.295kg, 50cm and head circumference of 36cm. i cried when i heard his 1st cry... so loud and crystal clear... nurse brought him to me when he was cleaned, he laid down on my chest and blew bubbles of saliva to me... i was smiling and crying the same time... he was so real, so sweet, so heavy, so solid, so peacefully resting on me... all the pains were worthy, because of u... my ziqian baobei... :)
